Specialist expertise
Ventilation designed for high-performance homes.
Mechanical design support for projects pursuing Passive House and other high-performance building outcomes, coordinated with the architect and wider project team.

Who it’s for
For teams aiming higher.
We support architects, building designers, builders and owners working on certified Passive House projects and other high-performance homes and buildings.

Our approach
Mechanical design as part of the whole building.
A coordinated building approach
Heating, cooling and ventilation should be considered alongside the envelope, airtightness, shading and occupancy. Early coordination helps reserve equipment space and practical duct routes.
Ventilation & comfort
We help define ventilation requirements and equipment selection, with attention to airflow, pressure, acoustics, filtration and maintenance access. HRV and ERV options are assessed for the project rather than selected by a blanket rule.
Support through delivery
The agreed scope can include design coordination, installation review and commissioning support. Building certification is undertaken by the appropriately appointed certifier; consultancy support is not a substitute for that role.
Start early
What to send at concept stage.
Share the plans, building performance targets and certification pathway. We can identify the mechanical decisions needed at concept stage and the information required for detailed design.
01
Plans & sections
Current architectural drawings, even if early.
02
Performance targets
Certification pathway and any energy or comfort targets.
03
Project team
Who the architect, builder and certifier are — or will be.
Do you certify Passive House projects?
No. Building certification is undertaken by the appropriately appointed certifier. We provide mechanical and ventilation design support to the project team.
HRV or ERV — which is right for my project?
It depends on the climate, building and occupants. HRV and ERV options are assessed against project conditions and manufacturer data rather than chosen by a blanket rule.
When should we involve you?
As early as possible — ideally at concept stage, while equipment space and duct routes can still be reserved.
